The canal is one of the most popular destinations in Indiana, especially in the summer. People fancying a walk on a one of these bright, shining days may notice gondolas glide down the river, escorted with a song. Burgerhaus, located along the canal at 335 W. 9th St, wants to be your tour guide to something more.
“Our servers are here to be your tour guide to flavors from around the world,” says Philip Pardus, the general manager “ And we chose to showcase those in the form of a burger.”
Burgerhaus’s low lights and spacious outdoor seating by the canal gives a very European feel. However, it’s the burgers that really transport you around the globe. Every burger is named after a location. Your passport, however, starts with trying their signature burger – the Haus.
Burgerhaus may feature exotic tastes from all over the globe, but the Haus is an as-you-want-it burger. I don’t mean like the places that ask if you want ketchup and mustard on your burger. You can put fried onions, regular onions, avocado, guacamole, lettuce, mayo, mustard chipotle mustard, red whine vinaigrettes. It can be anything you want it to be.
If you don’t feel like exploring, the basic Haus is still a huge half-pound beef patty served on a brioche bun with butter lettuce, tomato, onions and a choice of cheese. It’s so big and juicy, it has to be served with a knife. Explore the tastes of Burgerhaus, and you will definitely love the journey!
