1. Indy Film Fest

Through July 24, times vary. Why show 27 films over a 3-day span when you can show more than 100 films over a 10-day span. That's what this local film fest has a morphed into — a giant. Head here to check out the entire film list and pick the one(s) you want to attend.

2. ISO performs movie music of John Williams

July 15-16, 8 p.m. Jaws, Star Wars, Superman, Indiana Jones, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park ... ALL THE CLASSICS!

3. NFL Mascots vs Peewees Charity Football Game

July 15, 4 p.m. Watch Colts' mascot Blue and his mascot buddies take on various youth football teams from Central Indiana. Several Colts players will be in attendance signing autographs before kickoff. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Indiana.

4. Rock Hall Three For All

July 17, 7 p.m. Heart, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and Cheap Trick — all three of which peaked before I was born — perform. Feel old? That's because you are. Joking aside, have fun you AARP card holder.

5. Blacklight Slide

July 16, 7 p.m. For the longest time I thought this was a fake Facebook event and it was never going to happen, but alas, I was wrong. Put on your swimsuit and slide down the Blacklight Slide with neon glow in the dark water while a DJ blasts tunes. Sounds like a stellar Saturday night to me.

6. Garbage

July 15, 8 p.m. We swear their music doesn't live up to their name.

7. 7th Annual Lobster Palooza

July 16, 7 p.m. If a Lobster Palooza doesn't sound like something you want to be at, then your stomach/mind and mine are not alike. But yeah, the tickets are quite pricey so I understand if you can't attend. All proceeds benefit the Indianapolis Opera Resident Artist Program.

8. Blind Owl Anniversary Party

July 16, 11 a.m. Making it through your first year ain't easy guys. Celebrate with a cookout buffet, special tappings, live music and much more.

9. Tracksuit Lyfestile Album Release Party

July 15, 9 p.m. We like to imagine that this local supergroup was formed after one of them verbalized the thought we've all had: "Wouldn't it be excellent to wear tracksuits all day? You know, have a tracksuit lifestyle?" And the answer is 100 percent yes.

10. Indy Film Fest Awards Night

July 16, 7 p.m. The film Black Mountain Poets is followed by an awards presentation. Who will take home top honors in categories like Documentary Feature, World Cinema Feature and Hoosier Lens Short? Be at this event to find out.
