The Children's Museum of Indianapolis announces the 8th Annual Power of Children Awards: Making a Difference. The 2012 online application process is now open.
The Power of Children Awards: Making a Difference is an annual event intended to honor and further empower middle- and high-school students (grades 611) who have made a significant impact on the lives of others, demonstrated selflessness, and exhibited a commitment to service and the betterment of society. The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is seeking to nurture and recognize individual youth as role models who exemplify an extraordinary commitment to public service and social responsibility.
Each award recipient will receive the following:* A $2,000 grant to continue his or her extraordinary work.
Only individuals are eligible for nomination. Nominations will not be accepted from individuals in a group, or for group projects.
Nominees must be enrolled in Grades 6 to 11 as of the application deadline: midnight, April 30, 2012.
Nominators must be adults, 21 years of age or older, and may not be a parent, guardian, or immediate family member.
Nominees must have actively participated in the projects during the 20112012 school year.
We encourage you to start thinking about students worthy of nomination. All Nomination Forms and Nominee Statements must be submitted electronically or postmarked no later than midnight on Monday, April 30, 2012.
