I am in a union. I went to statehouse today to protest. The House committee passed the bill 8-5 along party line's. Sending it to full house for debate. Austin if you could reply. What now happen's to this bill? This is why I came to this post. With it pasing committe do you still think it won't pass? My union here in Indy is already in tough contract talk's with the company. This bill is the last freaking thing we need right now. I am hoping the bill doesn't pass. What is your opinion now on passage? Thank's -----------------Tim In Indy

It is not surprising. I suggest everyone check out the 8-30-10 issue of the new yorker to see the etiology and desired outcomes of the tea party billionaires. Its scary stuff and the people who back them do not realize the vision the people have. the populist portion of the tea party is being taken for a ride by big money. too bad we who do not support them are getting taken along as well.

It is very simple people. Please e-mail and call your democrat legislators in the house and tell them to walk out on these proceedings. By doing so, the republicans will not have enough legislators to have a quorum to take a vote. If this bill is not read three times by friday then it will DIE!!! It won't make it to the senate and we can live to fight another day!

There ya go! Walk out and avoid the fight to "live to fight another day"! Thats about the WORST advice (and most ignorant) I've seen! These people are paid to do their job, not run away from it! If I walk out on my job I get fired...and so should they! Grow some balls and stand up for what you believe, don't run away!!!

I had worked for the Uaw for the last 10 years and a job shop before that it was a rtw place with out the law and some did not pay.But it was over 90% that did. If it was only about who was or was not going to pay for unions I dont think this would even be on the table unions in Indiana are far weaker than other rtw states and the places that are not unions have harder times with work thats why they have more of them and are much stronger than the unions in Indiana I do not work in a union shop now but i dont have the bs with my empolyer that it brings with it. Now if the right thing to do was ask the people of that state to vote on what they wanted. As most of the things that they pass would be on the people and not some one in office to say. I think we would all be better off
