Photo Slideshow: Indy celebrates its workers

Posted by Austin Considine on Tue, Sep 7, 2010 at 5:55 PM

Workers, union leaders, politicians and supporters gathered in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday morning for the city's annual Labor Day parade.

Turnout was modest, but the rhetoric spirited, as labor supporters denounced the outsourcing of jobs, and made impassioned pleas for the restoration of a strong middle class in America.

I am not a pro photographer, and I was on assignment following a political campaign for the weekend. So most of the shots I took were either

a.) of politicians, or

b.) not so good

But I thought a few merited sharing. See the photo slideshow below and, from your friendly NUVO news editor, here's hoping you had a good weekend and ate a little healthier than I did.
