"Indefinite" may be an operative phrase here, but the signature to Weiss's e-mail reads like a tombstone: "We Are Hex: Feb 2007 - Aug 2011." Posts to the band's Facebook and now-offline website (wearehex.com) include the same epitaph.
As late as last week, We Are Hex was planning to record in San Francisco in September with Melvins producer Tim Green. They also had a busy month of shows planned, including a string of dates in California. We Are Hex found significant success earlier this year, recording a seven-inch with Jack White at his Third Man Studios and joining the roster of the Windish booking agency.
Here's video from a 2010 We Are Hex show taped by MonkeyEatsMonkey. White was reportedly inspired to work with the band after seeing MonkeyEatsMonkey's videos of their live performances.

No! I am not okay with this and I've yet to hear the band though I've been keeping tabs on their buzz and this news deeply upsets me.
Please do not follow suit among so many other bands in Indy who finally get some shine and then fade into obscurity.
If the health reasons are the genuine article then of course you must do whats best for you but if you are a part of something you love don't turn your back on it before you get to see your ultimate dreams come to fruition.
