Nora goes to the Austin City Limits Festival.

Another beautiful day in Austin! I didn't get to Zilker Park until late afternoon, missing several bands that I wanted to see but I couldn't pass up the chance to celebrate my uncle's 86th birthday with him.

I'd heard that the Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros show was not to be missed and I wasn't disappointed!

The crowd was full of energy and band leader, Alex Ebert whipped them in to a euphoric frenzy. Ebert was a whirl of motion — crowd surfing, speaker jumping and nearly levitating.

At one point my shoulder was a stepping stone to the crowd. I was giggling too hard to snap a proper photo.
I ran to hear Martin Sexton - he sounded amazing, as usual. The tent where he played was too crowed to elbow in for a photo - good for him! I took advantage of my VIP wristband and sat on the side stage bleachers for a few songs.
After that I took even more advantage of the wristband and met up with my Indianapolis friends in the VIP area for quick minute. I didn't want to be late for the Band of Horses photo call.

Band of Horses is an Americana band from the tips of their twangy guitar picks to their Western-style thrift store shirts.

Band of Horses has spent a lot of the summer on big festival stages in support of their newest record, Infinite Arms. Good stuff, really good stuff!
Next up, Norah Jones. I've been a fan of Norah's since her first record in 2001. There aren't many women named Nora/Norah between the ages of eight months and 88 years old. The beautiful and talented Norah blew a lot of old lady dust off of the name.
I will totally admit that I closed my eyes while I was in front of the stage waiting for the show to start and pretending like the thousands of people chanting, "Norah, Norah, Norah" were calling for me.

Norah's set was amazing and her band was terrific - my guitar playin' friend, Aaron Stroup's dream is to be in Norah's band.
I was walking out of the photo pit after the first three songs when I heard someone yelling, "Nora!" Of course, I assumed they were yelling for Miss Jones, but it was my friends Laura and L.

It was fun to see the rest of Norah's set with them and compare thrift store boots and cameras with L.
It took me awhile to fight through the thousands of fans to get to the photo pit for the headline show - The Eagles.

Of course I'm familiar with The Eagles - I was in high school in the 1970s, after all!

The set was full of classic hits from their deep catalogue and amazingly I knew most of the words.

The Eagles were the perfect ending to another stellar Austin City Limits Festival.
