Disbanded since 2004, Dayton, Ohio indie rock antiheroes Guided by Voices reunited this summer, in original form, to play a mini-tour that includes a headlining Las Vegas gig for their former record label Matador's 21st anniversary party. And it was just announced that they'll stop at The Bluebird in Bloomington Oct. 29.

That original lineup? Lead singer Bob Pollard, for sure, with Tobin Sprout (guitar), Charles “Mitch” Mitchell (guitar), Greg Demos (bass) and Kevin Fennel (drums), playing music music from the golden years between 1992 and 1996 which saw the release of Propeller, Bee Thousand, Alien Lanes and Under The Bushes, Under The Stars.

Two other points of interest: Bloomington has declared October 25 to be Guided by Voices day, at least according to this press release I just got from Spirit of '68. And whoever wrote this for the New York Times described Pollard quite nicely: "Music seems to come pouring out of some people: Mozart, the young Rossini, Paul McCartney, Prince and now Robert Pollard."

$30 tickets go on sale tomorrow, August 20. If other tour dates are any indication, they'll probably sell out within a few hours.
