Okay, it isn't a giant shark making its way to the Great Lakes, but something even more insidious. The Great Lakes is home to nearly 200 invasive species, most of whom were burped into the water by bilgewater from ships. But currently swimming toward the Great Lakes is none other than the Mother of All Invasive Species, the voracious Asian carp. Many believe the only way to stop the invasion is to shut down the waterways between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River. Our "money first, everything else second" governor, however, does not support this severing of the waterways. Once the Asian carp make it in, there won't be any way to get rid of them.
