Thumbs up: Indiana on board

The Indiana Department of Transportation recently submitted three pre-applications for passenger rail funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act -- the first step in qualifying for some of the $8 billion now available for designing a Midwestern high-speed rail network. This action was followed by Indiana's joining eight neighboring states and the city of Chicago in signing a high-speed rail pact to create a 3,000-mile network in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin in the next 20 years.
