As foodie fans know, Indianapolis is full of all manner of international cuisine. But Indy is also spread out, with ethnic food destinations flung all over the city.

In response, Nathan Smith has created Manthan International Market, a marketplace of ethnic cuisine and shopping on Mass Ave going on the last Saturday of every month through September. Vendors will sell prepared foods, raw produce (not quite as much as the downtown Farmer's Market), and artisanal goods.

Smith hopes that, like a good host at a party, introducing these two communities to each other will create a lasting bond. “After they experience these things, they’ll go out and visit them around town,” he said.

Head down to the Fire Station Museum area of the Avenue to check it out.
