The cycling season in central Indiana will see an unofficial start to the racing season this weekend.
Tomorrow’s 14th annual Marian University Midwest Cycling Classic will bring the best in collegiate and amateur racers to campus for a mostly flat criterium course with an uphill finish.
While the collegiate races are part of the NCAA, local riders can compete in the Cat 1/2/3 race at 2:30 or the Cat 4/5 race at 3:45 (with a USAC permit). Collegiate entry fees are $13; Cat 1/2/3 race is $25.
It will be the first race of the 2010 season for most of the NUVO Cycling Team. Expect to see nearly the entire team roster at the start line for the Cat 1/2/3 race.
Pre-register at www.truesport.com. Day of registration will be held at the Major Taylor Velodrome and will open at 8 a.m. Registration will close 30 minutes prior to each event.
We’ll have race results and photos on Monday!
